Volunteers of America works to prevent and end homelessness for individuals and families through a range of support services. These services include eviction prevention, emergency services, housing, transitional housing with services and permanent affordable housing.
Mobile Outreach
Our mobile outreach team engages homeless men and women on the streets and provides services to meet their basic, critical needs. Our staff builds trusting relationships with these individuals by offering food, blankets, transportation to shelter services, and information on community resources.

Emergency Shelter for Families
We provide safe, temporary housing for homeless families experiencing a short-term housing crisis. Families live in a furnished apartment and we offer supportive services including case management, life-skills classes, job-readiness and education classes, and domestic violence prevention services for 90 days. We also offer an after-school program and summer-enrichment activities to help ensure the social, emotional, and academic development of those children in our shelter program. After three months, families move into their own housing and continue to support themselves.
