Volunteers of America works to prevent and end homelessness for individuals and families through a range of support services. These services include eviction prevention, emergency services, transitional housing with services and permanent affordable housing. 

Mobile Outreach and Referral
Engaging homeless men and women on the streets to provide resources for their basic, critical needs 
Our staff members canvas the streets where the homeless congregate, establishing trust and linking them with community resources. To meet their basic needs, the homeless are provided with blankets, clothing and food, and transported to shelter services if they desire.

Emergency Shelter for Men
Safe and temporary shelter for homeless men (60 beds) 
Our goal for each man is achieving stable housing and employment. Services include: basic needs such as a warm bed, hot meals and clothing, and referrals to community resources.

Transitional Housing for Men
Long-term, structured environment with supportive services for homeless men working towards self-sufficiency (52 beds) 
Our transitional housing programs offer a long-term structured environment for homeless men working towards self-sufficiency. We offer supportive services including case management, employment counseling, life-skills training, securing benefits and referrals for substance abuse treatment and mental health counseling.

Emergency Shelter for Families 
Safe and temporary housing for homeless families (24 units) 
We put a roof over families experiencing a housing crisis. Families can stay in furnished apartments for up to 90 days while taking advantage of supportive services. The goal for each family: achieving stable housing and employment.

Permanent Supportive Housing for Families 
Affordable housing for homeless families with a disability (30 units) 
We not only provide affordable housing for those with disabilities, but offer our supportive service as well. Our goal is to offer families stable housing with the opportunity to move into independent housing and obtain meaningful employment.

Transitional Housing for Veterans
Long-term, structured environment designed to meet the unique needs of homeless veterans (90 beds)
We provide a stable environment and help them move into independent housing through our supporting services. Services include: case management, life skills training and referrals to community resources. We also offer mental health treatment programs. Cutting-edge techniques proven effective for this unique population such as intensive case management, clinical treatment and peer support, result in the successful integration of these homeless veterans into the community.

Youth Education Center
After-school and summer-enrichment program for the children in our housing programs
We are not only concerned with providing a place for children to go after school and during the summer, but investing in their academic progress, and social growth and development. Services include: career exploration; homework help and tutoring; art education; programs that encourages children to explore their emotions and improve communication; computer skills; and nutritious meals and education.
