Food Pantries & Free Meal Program
Well Rested Child
Every child deserves a bed. Well Rested Child provides beds for low-income or recently homeless children. A new mattress, box springs, sheets, comforter and pillow are all included. We serve low-income households with children ages 3-18 who are enrolled in school.
Grounded for Life
This program provides mentoring to help homeless individuals develop the tools for success in overcoming any major life change. The program helps homeless inviduals grieve over loss, change self-image, manage finances and other important daily living skills. Mentors come from all walks of life as a collaboration of local churches and faith-based ministries.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a fun-filled week of learning about God’s great love for each and every one of us. It is a time for crafts, games, music and skits. Held annually in August and run by ministers of the Church of Volunteers of America.
For 20+ years, Volunteers of America has prepared and delivered 2,500 traditional Thanksgiving meals to the homeless, elderly and others in Central Ohio on Thanksgiving day.
Holiday Food Baskets
Each year, more than 1,600 individuals and families in Northwest Ohio receive Christmas food baskets. Volunteers assist in packing food baskets, collecting canned goods, and delivering food baskets to those who are elderly or disabled.
