Affordable & Supportive Housing
From its beginnings more than a century ago, Volunteers of America has believed in the power of housing as the foundation for life. Volunteers of America is one of the largest nonprofit developers and providers of affordable housing in the country, housing nearly 25,000 people in more than 17,000 affordable housing units each year. In Greater Ohio, we have seven affordable housing programs with one on the way.
Housing for Single Adults
Parkway Towers (85 units)
We provide quality, affordable housing for low-income adults in Cincinnati. We offer efficiency and single bedroom apartments.
St. Bernard Commons (42 units)
This senior living center is home to low-income seniors ages 62 and older. The state-of-the-art facility features multiple common areas and outdoor gardens that encourage socialization and relationship building among the residents. The facility is located in St. Bernard, Ohio. See Resident Selection Criteria.
Woodlands (50 units)
We provide seniors, ages 55 and older, with safe, affordable housing. The modern complex includes one- and two-bedroom apartments, fully-equipped kitchens, common areas for social activities and a beautiful outdoor walking path. This facility is located in Middletown, Ohio.
Housing for Individuals, Seniors and those with Physical Disabilities
We serve individuals, seniors and those with physical disabilities by providing quality, affordable housing. Our housing programs reflects the needs of those we serve. Information and referral services are available. Mansfield has 21 units, Massillon 25, Sandusky 15 and Youngstown 31.
Housing for those with Developmental Disabilities
Clinton Springs Apartments (5 units)
We provide residents with long-term, affordable housing. Our goal is to offer residents a safe, stable and supportive living environment while working toward independent living. Apartment units are wheelchair accessible and include fully-equipped kitchen areas.
Housing for those with Physical Disabilities
Antioch Manor (24 units)
We serve individuals with physical disabilities by providing quality, affordable housing. Our housing program reflects the needs of those we serve with each apartment unit specifically designed for individuals with physical disabilities. We offer one- and two-bedroom apartment units that are wheelchair accessible.
Permanent Supportive Housing
We provide affordable housing for families with disabilities and offer our supportive services as well. Our goal is to offer families stable housing with the opportunity to move into independent housing and obtain meaningful employment. The Columbus program serves 30 families, the Toledo program 5.
Housing for those with a Disability
We provide 41 units of affordable housing for those with disabilities and offer our supportive service as well. Our goal is to offer individuals stable housing with the opportunity to move into independent housing and obtain meaningful employment.
