Helping Homeless Veterans

Stand Down events are resource fairs providing free services and information about community resources for homeless veterans. “Stand Down” is a military term used during the Vietnam War referring to a safe retreat for units returning from combat operations. Today, more than 80 Stand Down events are held annually to reach an estimated 100,000 homeless veterans.

We host or participate in Cleveland, Columbus and Dayton’s Stand Down events, helping local human service agencies work together to give these veterans access to basic health, legal, financial, housing, employment, training and social services.
