Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio utilizes over 1,000 volunteers each year who dedicate thousands of hours to helping those in need. You can help too!

New Summer Opportunities in Columbus!

Following are opportunities available year-round:

  • Sponsor a clothing drive with your office, church or member organization
  • Donate non-perishable food or gift cards, or hold a food drive to help families or individuals in need
  • Help sort and hang clothing in our thrift stores
  • Tutor a child in our after-school programs
  • Organize an activity or field trip for the children in our after-school programs
  • Landscape, paint, or perform general maintenance for our housing facilities
  • Teach life skills such as money management, career preparation or fitness classes in our facilities
  • Adopt a room in one of our facilities and refurbish it
  • Purchase or collect blankets, coats, gloves and hats for the homeless
  • Purchase or collect donations to assemble personal care kits for the homeless
  • Plan and sponsor a special fundraising event. A few ideas include:
    • Carnival
    • Run/Walk-a-thon
    • Arts and Crafts Fair
    • Fashion Show
    • Silent Auction
    • Celebrity Cook-off
